WHAT IS THE SCHOLARSHIP INITIATIVE?
VISION
To provide CrossFit program and MCF Community access to
Since day one we have had a mission to be more than a gym. We want our impact in the community to extend beyond one persons journey to health and wellness. In addition to improving ourselves, we feel we have a responsibility to improve our community. True communities are made up of many types of people with various backgrounds and experiences. This is an area we feel the need to improve at MCF. The low-income community is one that suffers significantly from the effects of inactivity and lack of exercise. As people who do CrossFit, we know how it changes, elevates, and motivates us in all other areas of life. We believe that what we do in the gym has a direct impact on how we perform and live outside of the gym. Our vision for this scholarship program is to extend that opportunity for self-discipline and self-improvement to those near us that are not able to afford it. The poverty rate in our community is 23%. Nearly a quarter of the people living around us are living in poverty. We want to play our part in empowering people to lift themselves out of impoverished circumstances.
Imagine the difference we could make in an individual’s life by helping them believe they are capable of more than they ever thought possible. Dream with us about what it would look like to do that for 5, 10, 50, or 200 people. Think about how a pursuit of wellness has impacted your own life and consider how we could change the makeup of our entire community by providing them with that same opportunity. We believe that confident people make better (anything). We also believe that what we do in the gym builds better, more confident people; not just fitter people — Confident people build better communities. Let’s build better, together.
